Treatment of complex PTSD

The Polish Society of Traumatic Stress Studies, being a Member Society of the ESTSS, has begun organising a further series of workshops leading to the obtaining of the ESTSS General Certificate in Psychotraumatology. You are cordially invited to take part in the Treatment of complex PTSD workshop to be given by prof. Norbert Gurris of the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.

 

Workshop participants will be able to describe the common presentations of complex PTSD sufferers, discuss the theoretical basis as to why alternative management approaches may bebeneficial for complex PTSD compared to simple PTSD, as well as describe the current evidence base for the effectiveness of treatments for complex PTSD.

                                                                                                                                    

We encourage participation by those working in mental health facilities – psychologists, psychiatrists, and students at an advanced stage of appropriate fields of study

 

GENERAL CERTIFICATE IN PSYCHOTRAUMATOLOGY

N.B.: For those who participated in the European Workshops on Traumatic Stress (EWOTS) in September 2009 and who initiated ESTSS certification procedures, this workshop will constitute a continuation of this process.

 

WORKSHOP DATE AND LOCATION

 

Date: The workshop will take place on 21-22 May 2011, 10.00-18.00 (Saturday) and 10.00-17.00 (Sunday),with a break for lunch.

 

Location:  Pałac Tyszkiewiczów – Potockich (Studium Europy Wschodniej), Entrance C, 1st floor (enter via the University of Warsaw main gate, in front of the University kiosk on the left-hand side; up the stairway, or else by lift).
